Our Philosophy

Music lessons should inspire a lifelong love of music, whether it be playing, creating or listening.  The goal at Creative Keys is to keep all students engaged and having fun, while instilling a desire to learn, practice and improve.  We also understand that many families have busy schedules, and children are involved in a wide variety of activities these days.  That's why classes at Creative Keys are offered as short-term sessions each season.  No year long commitments are necessary, and if your child loves it, then sign them up for the next session too!

 Owner and Teacher

I LOVE music, and it's been a part of my life since I was a young.  I began learning to play the piano as a kid and I've pretty much been singing or playing in church since then too.  I'm a former piano teacher, turned school teacher, turned mom, turned part-time school/part-time studio teacher.  My current big endeavour is writing a ukulele method book for children.  Look for it in Spring 2020! ukuleleforchildren.com

I have my B.A, B. Ed and RCM Gr. 9 piano certificate.  I am a certified school teacher in Alberta, and I'm also a James Hill Ukulele Initiative Certified Level 2 Teacher. I'm currently teaching elementary school music part-time, I'm the music director at my church, and I teach studio classes on Fridays.  I'm pretty much immersed in music every day of the week and I love it!  When I'm not playing, singing or creating, I love to be active.  You can often find me hanging out with my wonderful family, running around the paths of Harmony, working out at the park, or hanging out at the beach.
